Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) with 3-D Adapted NAVITOR Aortic Valve
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a modern minimally invasive method for treating heart disease in elderly patients—degenerative aortic stenosis. The severe narrowing (stenosis) of aortic valve is the most widespread cause of heart failure and high mortality rate in patients older than 70 years. The method serves as an alternative to traditional open-heart valve replacement surgery. The main advantage of TAVI over open heart surgery is a significant reduction in complication and postoperative mortality due to its low invasiveness.
3-D Navigator valve is cutting-edge technology, combining the best biocompatible artificial and animal materials, that guarantees the longevity of aortic valve and the excellent long-term results.
The essence of the procedure
is the implantation of an artificial valve (bioprothesis) through the femoral artery without endotracheal anesthesia and cardiopulmonary bypass.
Indications for TAVI:
-
Aortic stenosis of moderate, severe, very severe degree
-
Clinical symptoms of heart failure, fatigue, dizziness, fainting
Contraindications:
- Severe renal failure
The decision to perform TAVI is made by a Heart team including cardiologists, endovascular surgeons and anesthesiologists. Before procedure patients undergo all necessary tests, taking into account the individual patient's characteristics.
The TAVI procedure is performed under intravenous anesthesia (an anesthesiologist consultation is required). The average duration is 30-60 minutes After the surgery; the patient remains in intensive care unit for several hours and then under the surveillance at inpatient unit for two days. After 2-3 days patient can be released from hospital. Special rehabilitation is not required; patient is capable of flying and doing every day routine.
Treatment cost may vary from - 2,500,000 to 3,000,000 RUB
The final cost is calculated individually after consultation with a doctor and the development of a personalized treatment plan.
